Production of frozen fruit pulps

The plant of « Palmeira Agricola » is located in the state of Alagoas, in the north east of Brazil. The region is very rich in fruits, in particular mango trees over 100 years old, acerola, pitanga and cashew fruit.

Its site allows us to have access to harvests of small and average farmers, with a very variable offer of fruits, throughout the year. The pulp of açai is produced by a partner directly localised in one of the Amazonian states, producer of this fruit.

All fruits are harvest at full maturity (optimal level of vitamins, minerals, taste and aromas), washed, hand selected, peeled and transformed in 100% natural pulps, no preservatives, no additives, no added sugar, no water added.

The laboratory integrated on the plant, carries out for each batch of fruits, the microbiological analyses, Brix and pH, which guarantees optimal quality control of our pulps. Once arrived in Europe, our batches are again controlled by an approved French laboratory.

The planr, directed by a professional with more than 15 years of experience in the segment of fruit juices in Germany, has create more than 20 job’s on the spot and is today one of the most important processing industries of fruits of the area, being characterized by excellent quality for its products.

Production of frozen Palm hearts

Founded by Carlos Whately, in the 1930s, the farm that initially used to grow only coffee has been diversifying its crops into rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis), avocado trees (Persea Americana) and palm trees.

The “pupunha” palm heart has been grown at Santa Cecilia Estate since 1997. The plantation occupies 500 hectares of the property, which is located 400 km, southwest from the city of Sao Paulo.

Contrary to the traditional hearts of palm, sold in cans or glass, “Santa Cecília Palm Hearts Pupunha” is only sold frozen and in bags. This innovation offers two great advantages:
1)You are able to store the Santa Cecilia Palm Heart in the freezer and use the amount required avoiding any waste.
2) Because it contains no preservatives (it is free from the citric acid taste) Santa Cecilia Palm Heart keeps the original texture and flavour allowing its use in the most original and diverse recipes.

The Santa Cecilia Palm Heart plant is also an example of environmental awareness when the issue is the implementation of measures, which guarantee the preservation of the natural resources and its sustainability
All water used internally is cleaned and filtered, channelled to a reservoir and then reused in the irrigation of the palm tree plantation. The architectural project was also made so that the natural light is used for more time, avoiding the elevated consumption of artificial energy in the factory.During the processing of the palm heart, nothing is discarded. The husks serve as organic fertilizer all over the farm and the fibres are used as a food supplement for the animals
